If you’re looking for more friendly breeds, consider Orpingtons or Bard Rocks! They have similar laying abilities and offer great company too.

In my experience, White Rock chickens lay just as well as Leghorns but with better personality! They may not be the top layer, but their eggs are worth it.

I’ve raised White Rock chickens for a couple of years now. They are incredibly friendly and sociable, both with humans and other birds. They usually follow me around the yard, which is pretty charming!

In my experience, White Rocks are really easy to handle. They’re curious and love interacting with people. I’ve even trained mine to come when called with treats! Just be patient and consistent.
I’ve got a mixed flock, and the White Rocks tend to get along well with other breeds. It’s interesting how they fit right in without causing any trouble. Good choice for a starter flock!

I use mealworms as treats; they go crazy for them! Also, being gentle while handling them helps a lot. They can get startled easily, so approach them calmly.

Yes, I found that too! Each bird has its unique temperament. Some of mine are super friendly, while others prefer to keep their distance. Just let them be themselves!

Ha! I think my White Rock thinks I’m just a walking food dispenser. Should I be worried about that? I mean, they do seem to enjoy my company!
